Applies to linear scale instruments used in general, regional and local prospecting and for subsurface survey and underground workings. For bore-hole logging equipment, see IEC 576. For radiation meters using Geiger-MŸller counter tube, see IEC 421. Specifications should be provided in the instruction manual by the manufacturer.
