The Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) is organizing a promotional and informative seminar to present to its users the content of changes to management system standards, starting with the changes to the most widely applied standards SRPS ISO 9001:2015, SRPS ISO 14001:2015 and SRPS ISO 45001:2018. The content of these changes is identical for all management system standards and applies to all international management system standards published to date, a list of which can be found here: https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/download/file/page-section/2514
The changes reflect ISO's obligations in relation to climate action as a sign of support for the London Declaration on Climate Change and a response to the need to consider the impact of climate change on the ability to achieve the expected outcomes provided in management system standards. The changes are as follows:
Clause 4.1: The organization must determine whether climate change is a relevant issue.
Clause 4.2: NOTE: Relevant interested parties may have requirements related to climate change.
The IAF statement emphasizes that the general objective of the requirements for Clauses 4.1 and 4.2 of management system standards remains unchanged, i.e. that organizations must consider all internal and external issues that may affect the effectiveness of their management system. These new changes require that climate change be considered within the management system as an external factor important to society as a whole. It is also important to note that in this case there is no transition period because the general objective of the requirement remains unchanged, and the new changes are treated as an explanation rather than a new requirement.
The training is intended to interpret the changes that have been published and are publicly available for download from the ISS website. Since the changes relate to the analysis of the impact of climate change on the business of certified organizations and their stakeholders, the lecture itself is designed to emphasize two main aspects: familiarization with the changes themselves on the one hand and an overview of the climate change regulations in the world and in our country on the other.
