According to Article 7, point 12) of the Law on Standardization, the Institute has established a system for voluntary certification and the use of a national mark of conformity with Serbian standards in accordance with the ISS rules.
The national mark of conformity was established modeled after European conformity marks, with its role being to build consumer confidence in products or services bearing such a mark. Products or services with this mark have added value because they have been tested or verified against additional standards at the request of the manufacturer or service provider, and not just those standards that are mandatory by regulations for placing products on the market or providing a service.
ISS has established the procedure and rules for the use of the mark of product conformity with the requirements of Serbian standards, as well as the graphic design for the national mark itself.
In the upcoming period, ISS will develop all the necessary infrastructure to support this activity, such as:
Manufacturers who have demonstrated the conformity of their products with the requirements of Serbian standards use the national mark of conformity with Serbian standards based on the certificate for approval of the use of the national mark, which is awarded to the manufacturer by the Council for the National Mark of Conformity with Serbian Standards.
In this process, ISS will include all interested parties such as: relevant ministries; the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia; consumer organizations, manufacturers, and inspector associations; certification bodies; as well as other relevant partners.
