One of the obligations of the national standardization organization arising from membership of the European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC is the notification (notification) of the original national standards to the European Commission, as well as to other members of the said organizations. As the original national standard may be a technical barrier to trade, other Member States should be alerted to this possibility and have the opportunity to comment and draft the original national standard.
In compliance with this obligation, the Institute reports to the European Commission the original Serbian standards that are under public debate.
On the other hand, the Institute publishes notifications of the original national standards of other countries on its website once a month.
