7 April – World Health Day

In order to raise public awareness of the importance of taking care of health, the day dedicated to health -7 April is being celebrated all over the world. It is an opportunity to point out important health topics on a global level that should not be neglected.

This year's motto on the occasion of World Health Day is: "Our planet, our health", which emphasizes the need to preserve limited natural resources as a prerequisite for healthy living.

International standards are certainly an important tool for creating a healthy and safe working and living environment. Also, the application of standards contributes to the fight against climate change and water and air pollution. Increasing pollution is directly related to the growing number of people suffering from serious diseases - according to the WHO, more than 13 million deaths worldwide each year are the result of environmental causes. Therefore, it is necessary to take urgent actions in order to create a cleaner environment, and thus a healthier population.

In ISS, there are several active TCs that are adopting Serbian standards in the field of environmental protection: KS A207, Environmental Management Systems, KS H146, Air Quality, KS H147, Water Quality and KS H190, Soil Quality.
