The Institute for Standardization of Serbia and the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina have built long-term cooperation, which is based on mutual support in achieving common goals of standardization development.
On the occasion of 28 December, the Day of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, Director of this institution, awarded plaques and letters of acknowledgement to individuals and organizations. Among this year's winners of letters of acknowledgement for the significant contribution to the development, application and promotion of standards and for the improvement of standardization in Bosnia and Herzegovina are Ms. Tatjana Bojanić, Director of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia and Mr. Nebojša Petrović, Chairperson of the Regional Group for the Development of National Normative Aspects for Overhead Lines. The members of this expert group were representatives of three countries: Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, and the final meeting was held at the end of October 2021.
In addition to cooperation in the adoption of important documents, the two national standardization bodies have signed an agreement on the sale of national standards - SRPS standards in Bosnia and Herzegovina and BAS standards in the Republic of Serbia. Currently, BAS standards are the only national standards of standardization bodies from the former Yugoslavia that can be obtained from the ISS. Due to the easy understanding and the absence of a language barrier, mutual cooperation between these institutions and their experts, as well as interested parties in both countries, can be even more intense and stronger in the future.
