Boosting female entrepreneurship

ISS representatives visited the association “Business in heels” on 2 September 2021 in Novi Sad. This association deals with empowering and promoting women´s entrepreneurship since 2016. The idea of founding the association arose at the Assembly of the Balkan Association of Women in Crafts, after which the Association of Business Women of Vojvodina was founded, followed by the Association for the Promotion of Healthy Living. As a result of their joint activities, in June 2017, the First Professional Conference "Business on Heels" was held. Since then, this conference, which brings together entrepreneurs from Serbia and the entire region, is organized every year, with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia and the City of Novi Sad.

The opportunities for future cooperation and ways in which standards can contribute to more successful business of women's SMEs were discussed at the meeting. In order to introduce women entrepreneurs to the benefits of the standards application and implementation, meetings and exchange of information of mutual interest have been agreed. The first opportunity for concrete activities will be from 18 to 24 September, within the Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad.
