CEN-CENELEC Brochure "Standards Supporting ESG Reporting"

The Institute for Standardization of Serbia has translated and published the promotional CEN-CENELEC brochure titled "Standards Supporting Sustainability Reporting on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Issues."

In line with the requirements of the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC emphasize the importance of applying technical standards in the preparation of ESG reports, which cover environmental, social, and governance aspects.

Standards developed by organizations such as ISO, IEC, CEN, and CENELEC enable organizations to present their sustainable practices in a systematic and reliable manner, also facilitating the verification of reported data. Moreover, compliance with these standards promotes efficiency, transparency, and alignment with the European regulatory framework—particularly important for companies seeking increased investor trust and improved access to financing.

This document provides a comprehensive overview of the standards that support ESG reporting across various fields—from emissions management and energy efficiency to social inclusion and corporate governance. Organizations are encouraged to incorporate these standards into their reports to ensure the validity, quality, and global recognition of their sustainability data.
