Day of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia and World Standards Day – celebrated on 6 October 2023

This year marks the 89th anniversary of the first steps towards the institutionalisation of standardization in our region. After many decades and numerous transformations following historical events, the Institute for Standardization of Serbia has been the only national standardization body in the Republic of Serbia since 2007. 

To remember its beginnings, to continue a long tradition, but also to emphasize the value of standardization on a global scale, the Institute celebrates the Day of ISS and World Standards Day at the same time each year. At the ceremony organised at the Institute in honour of national and world standardization, awards were presented to the most deserving staff members of the Institute.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the institutions with which the Institute cooperates most closely: the Ministry of Economy, the Accreditation Body of Serbia, as well as the Management and the Supervisory Board of the Institute. The guests were welcomed by Tatjana Bojanić, Director of the Institute, and then addressed by Mr. Nikola Vitas, Acting Deputy Minister of Economy, and Mrs. Tanja Petrović from the Ministry of Economy, President of the Assembly of the Institute. 

Among this year's recipients of certificates of appreciation for their outstanding contribution to the development of national standardization were:

- dr Ivan Glišović, representative of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, NTC U250-5,6, Design of timber and masonry structures member

- Nina Vukosavljević, representative of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, NTC U059, Buildings and civil engineering works, and NTC SC Z021/PKS U092, Bezbednost od požara – Tehničke mere bezbednosti od požara

- Danijela Pršić, predstavnica Ministarstva građevinarstva, saobraćaja i infrastrukture, član potkomisije KS Z021/PKS U092, Technical measures of fire safety in buildings member

- Vladimir Bukvić, representative of the Directorate for Standardization, Codification and Metrology of the Ministry of Defense, member of the Expert Council for general areas of standardization

- dr Jaroslava Budinski-Simendić, representative of the Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad, Chairperson of the NTC G045, Rubber and rubber products,

- prof. dr Vlastimir Radonjanin, representative of the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Vojvodina, Chairperson of the NTC U071, Concrete, reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete

- Gordan Zovko, representative of Kabl inženjeringa, NTC N064, Electrical installations member

The winners of the plaque for 2023 are:

- prof. dr Milan Savić, representative of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Chairperson of NTC N017AC, High-voltage switchgear and controlgear and NTC N078, Equipment and tools for live working and NTC N081, Lightning protection member

- prof. dr Dragana Bečejski-Vujaklija, representative of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, member and then Chairperson of the NTC I1/07, Software engineering, IT for educatiоn and Intеrnet

-  Business Association Cement Industry of Serbia (CIS), whose representatives are members of three NTCs: KS U071, Concrete, reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete, KS U071/PKS 1, Concrete, reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete - Cement and building limes and NTC Z183, Circular economy and waste management.
