Director of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, Tatjana Bojanić, guest on AgroDnevnik: “Standards are not an obligation – they are a value!”

Tatjana Bojanić, Director of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, was a guest on the programm AgroDnevnik, where she discussed the importance of standards in modern agricultural production.

Ms. Bojanić emphasized that standardization and certification are not merely technical regulations, but tools that enable producers to improve the quality of their products, food safety, and gain a competitive edge in both domestic and foreign markets.

During her guest appearance, the Director also highlighted the role of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia in advancing agriculture through:

• Access to a large number of national and international standards related to food safety, organic production, plant protection, and sustainable agriculture.
• Educating producers on the application of standards.
• Information centers in several Serbian cities, which provide support to farmers regarding standardization and certification.
• Opportunities for small producers to initiate the certification process with expert assistance from the Institute, minimizing major obstacles.

The Director of the Institute stressed that standards should not be viewed as an expense, but rather as an investment that guarantees long-term success, as it brings recognition, consumer trust, and opens doors for export.
