By the end of 2026, all standards and related documents of the second generation of Eurocodes will be published in the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The deadline for adopting these standards and related documents into the national standardization system is September 2027, with a six-month transition period for the withdrawal of first-generation Eurocode standards, meaning that by the end of March 2028, all will be withdrawn.
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, together with experts from European subcommittees and working groups within the Technical Committee CEN/TC 250, Eurocodes for structural design, is organizing a promotional webinar “Second generation of Eurocodes: key changes and advantages through design examples”, to support their implementation. This online workshop will be held from 3 to 5 June 2025.
During the two-day workshop, key advantages and changes within the second generation of Eurocodes will be presented, with implementation/calculation examples for standards, as well as for new technical specifications for the design of structures made of fiber-polymer composite materials and tensioned membrane structures. Presentations and examples have been prepared by experts who participated in the development of these standards and technical specifications, so this is an opportunity to learn directly from the authors of the standards about the practical application of the new Eurocodes.
The online workshop is free and primarily intended for engineers, construction regulators, as well as all interested parties involved in structural design and geotechnical engineering.
Registration for the webinar is open until 25 May, 2025.
