From September 26 to 30, the Fourth Plenary meeting of the International Technical Committee ISO/TC 323, Circular Economy, was held in Kigali (Rwanda). What is particularly important for us is that the representative of the ISS, Vladica Čudić, a member of the ISS NTC KS Z183 and an expert in the working groups ISO/TC 323, was a participant in this session. The plenary session was attended by more than 60 participants on the spot and more than 100 online participants. At the session the strategic issues of ISO/TC 323, such as: revision of the work program, information on research and development projects in the field of circular economy and statuses of the ISO 59000 series of standards were discussed.
Some of the main topics discussed at the working group meetings and accompanying workshops related to questions such as: how to measure and evaluate the principles of circularity defined by the ISO 59004 standard using the framework of key performance indicators defined in ISO 59020, how to elaborate circular activities in ISO 59010 in order to serve the business model, how to better define certain terms and how best, referring to the standard, to prove the circularity of the product, as well as numerous other issues.
