World Health and Safety at Work Day, April 28, was established in 2003 by the International Labour Organization (ILO). The goal of marking this day is to point out the need to protect the life and health of workers by creating adequate working conditions.
Statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) show an increase in the number of accidents and work-related illnesses, which kill more than two million people worldwide each year. Of these, as many as 1.7 million deaths are caused by occupational diseases. With the appearance and spread of the COVID-19 virus, the situation becomes even more serious. The global pandemic caused great losses, and in addition to the direct impact on human health, it caused negative economic and social consequences.
On the occasion of the World Day of Health and Safety at Work, ISS is organizing a webinar on 28 April entitled: SRPS ISO/PAS 45005:2021 Occupational health and safety management — General guidelines for safe working during the COVID-19 pandemic in accordance with the specification SRPS ISO/PAS 45005:2021 ([https: https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/training/course/show/72](https: https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/training/course/show/72 "")), with free participation for all who apply.
At this three-hour webinar, participants will be introduced in detail to the terminology used in SRPS ISO / PAS 45005: 2021 and informed about its structure.
The previous year, 2020, was unpredictable and brought long-term uncertainty. Therefore, the ISO/PAS 45005: 2020, Occupational health and safety management — General guidelines for safe working during the COVID-19 pandemic has been published. The ISS NTC CASCO translated this document in very short time and adopted it as SRPS ISO/PAS 45005:2021 in Serbian (https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/project/show/iss:proj:101764). This document provides general guidance for all organizations on how to manage the risks arising from COVID-19 in order to preserve occupational safety and health as well as occupational well-being.
