A Year of Successful Cooperation Between the Institute for Standardization of Serbia and Belgrade Fair

Cooperation between the Institute for Standardization of Serbia and Belgrade Fair began in late 2023 with the ISS participation in the 18th International Energy Fair and the 19th Ecology and Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Fair. With the topic "Standards and Ecology" at the opening of the second day of presentations at the Ecology and Energy Fair, ISS began its participation in numerous trade fairs in 2024.

The beginning of February was marked by „Balkan Textile“, and at the end of the month, the famous „International Tourism Fair“ took place, where the national standardization body participated with the topic „Standards in Tourism“. Numerous visitors to this most visited trade fair had the opportunity to access standards free of charge at the ISS stand and learn more about the services the Institute offers.

April was marked by the Construction Fair, which required special preparation from our employees. In addition to a rich program for visitors and exhibitors, ISS employees created themed days. One day was dedicated to Eurocodes, featuring our guest, Professor Jelena Dobrić, author of the book „Design of Steel Structures in Buildings“. Another day featured a lecture by Jelena Skoković, Head of the Division for Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Transport, on the topic of „Construction through the prism of standardization - Opportunities and challenges“. On the same day, a shorter training session on occupational health and safety was held for construction professionals.

"Inspiring Development" was the theme of this year's Technical Fair, where the Institute participated with a focus on „Adopting VDE Standards for Technical Rules for Connecting User Installations to Low-Voltage and Medium-Voltage Networks.“ Five speakers presented on the broader significance of VDE standards (standards of the Association of German Electrical Engineers), positive experiences of small and medium-sized enterprises in applying these standards, adopted European standards related to technical rules for connecting user installations to low-voltage and medium-voltage networks, important issues not covered by these European standards, the initiative to adopt relevant VDE standards, experiences in their use, and terminology in the translated VDE standards.

Having initiated its collaboration with the Fair at the Eco Fair last year, ISS concluded its participation in trade fairs for this year with the same event.

This consistent engagement has been instrumental in promoting standards and the Institute's certification body. Visitors to all these events have been offered a wide range of services at special fair discounts.

To the satisfaction of both parties, the cooperation between the national standardization body and Belgrade Fair will continue in the coming year.
