Innovation through standards or standardization through innovation?

For the sixth year in a row, the European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC have issued a public call for nominations for researchers and innovators for the CEN and CENELEC Standards+Innovation Awards 2024.
 

These awards are intended for those who have made a significant contribution to standardization through their research or innovation. The awards are given in the following categories:
Category #1: European research project which has successfully contributed to standardization
Category #2: Individual researcher/innovator who has achieved a successful integration of research/innovation and standardization by embedding standards development in innovation processes or by developing research outcomes that have been incorporated in standardization deliverables
Category #3: Young researcher (up to 30 years) who has addressed standardization in the work done for academic theses, doctoral dissertations or other university research projects
 

The call is open until 30 June, and ISS can nominate two candidates under each category, provided they have not been nominated previously for the same effort. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 24 October in Brussels.
