International conference „Safety crisis in 21st century and managing them” completed

The International two-day conference „Safety crisis in 21st century and managing them” was held on 13 and 14 October 2020, between 11:00 and 14:00. The organizer of this conference is the Center for Risk Analysis and Crisis Management (CRACM) from Belgrade, in cooperation with Croatian Association for International Studies, Institute for Development and International Relations and Libertas International University from Zagreb, Croatia. Given the importance and relevance of the topic, the Institute for Standardization of Serbia ISS joined, as a partner, in the organization and secured media support of this event.

The aim of the conference was exchanging experiences, as well as comprehension and advancement of contemporary practices and policies before, during and after any crisis situation and other disturbing factors.

The conference was attended by more than 50 participants from the region, with ISS support that was the host from where the lectures of several prominent experts from Belgrade were broadcasted, i.e.: Prof. dr Ana Gligić, retired virusologist, Doc. dr Verica Jovanović, CEO of the Institute for Public Health „Dr Milan Jovanović Batut“, Miljan Rančić, national coordinator for emergency situations, Prof. dr Zoran Keković, prof at Faculty of Security Studies and CRACM President, Serbian representative in ISO TC 292 – Security and Resilience, Prof. dr Elizabeta Ristanović, Military Medical Academy, Prof. dr Želimir Kešetović, Faculty of Security Studies.

The topics on the first day of the conference defined the theoretical and practical context, then the challenges of the crisis management, as well as business continuity management, by the guidance intended for strategic decisions makers. The second day was dedicated to the presentation of the examples of COVID-19 crisis management, as well as the treatment of the consequences, that will serve as the lesson for the behavior in the future.

The outcome of the conference should be used as a guidance for the development and implementation of the sector policies, exactly determined actions and activities that are significant for the improvement of „the resilience” in the strategic and operational environment.
