ISS fosters regional cooperation

On Friday, 1 December 1 2023, the Acting Director of the Republic Institute for Standardization and Metrology of the Republic of Srpska, Ms. Nataša Žugić, with the associate Mr. Drago Bijelić visited ISS.

At a productive meeting with the ISS delegation, led by ISS Director Mrs. Tatjana Bojanić, exciting possibilities for future collaboration were explored. Building on the successful multi-year partnership, which began with the 2012 Cooperation Agreement, the discussion was focused on strengthening bilateral ties. A key basis was the shared need to raise awareness of the critical role of standards. This shared commitment will be the driving force behind joint initiatives to promote standardization across various industries and sectors.

Previously, the collaboration between the two standardization organizatrions thrived on organizing seminars relevant to businesses in the Republic of Srpska. This fruitful practice will continue in the future. Additionally, interested parties can now access Serbian-language SRPS standards directly at the Institute's library, in Banja Luka. Building on the past efforts of acquiring paper copies, the Republic Institute for Standardization and Metrology of the Republic of Srpska were excited to announce that soon, all SRPS standards will be available for online reading.
