ISS meeting with young innovators

EIT Jumpstarter is an accelerator program supported by the EU that helps innovation teams and companies in the early stages of development (startups) to launch their products on the market. It organizes an international high-tech innovation competition every year, and this year's grand finale was held two weeks ago in Athens, Greece. In competition from all over Europe, two startups from Serbia, Noxatest and Neo Pill, were awarded, winning the first places in the EIT Food and EIT Health categories.

The authors of the solution for the revolutionary diagnostic panel for the diagnosis of bacteria Noxatest, Jelena and Marko Komloš, were guests of ISS this week. The immediate reason for the visit is their recent great success and winning a prize at the EIT Jumpstarter 2023. Domestic experts presented themselves at the competition with their innovative solution for rapid detection of pathogenic bacteria in humans, animals and in food of animal origin. In addition to the great commitment to laboratory scientific research, these young innovators regularly follow the development of standards and current affairs in standardization. Since 2021, Marko Komloš has been involved in the work of the Committee for Standards NTC E034-9, Microbiology and biotechnology (https://iss.rs/en/committee/show/9202).

You can read more about the Noxatest panel soon, in the regular column dedicated to innovations in the latest ISS Bulletin "Standardization".
