Strengthening cooperation in the field of standardization

A working meeting was held at the Institute for Standardization of Serbia with a delegation of the Russian national standardization body GOST R – Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology. In addition to the exchange of experiences, new opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of standardization were discussed.

The three-member GOST R delegation included Anton Shalaev, General Director of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology, Rostislav Sirotkin, Deputy General Director of the Russian Standardization Institute, and Larina Kononova, Head of the GOST R External Relations Division.

On behalf of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, the meeting was attended by Tatjana Bojanić, Acting Director of the Institute, Violeta Nešković-Popović, Head of the Sector for International Cooperation, Information and Publishing Activities, Radiša Knežević, Head of the Sector for General Areas of Standardization, Goran Bajić, Head of the Sector for Electrotechnical Standardization, and Marko Ristić, International Cooperation Coordinator.

During the discussions, current topics of mutual interest were considered, including: strengthening cooperation through twinning and mentorship within ISO and IEC technical committees; training in the field of standardization; digital transformation of standardization processes; innovative business models with an emphasis on licensing, and voluntary conformity assessment.

The visit represented a significant opportunity for the exchange of experiences regarding current trends and challenges in standardization, as well as for identifying new directions of cooperation in areas of strategic importance.

This meeting, held within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement, confirmed the shared commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the field of standardization, emphasizing its role as a key instrument for supporting innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable development.
