The Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) invites interested young people between the ages of 18 and 25 to participate in a prize competition for the production of video clips on the importance of using standards from June 5 to 18, 2024.
This year, ISS is organizing a video competition for the best video!
To participate, you need to imagine how the world would function without standards. For example, the exchange of goods and services would be much more difficult due to safety and quality issues, prices would be higher because competition would be limited, and international communication and cooperation would be very difficult. Everyday tasks such as shopping online or withdrawing money from a bank would become almost impossible without the common language that standards provide for us, which ensures that products are compatible and work well together.
In addition to topics such as social responsibility, management systems, accessibility, environment, international trade, conformity assessment, consumer products, etc., authors can also deal with the topic of 90 years of standardization in our region or some other currently topical topic.
Choose just one example of something that wouldn't work or that we couldn't do if we didn't have standards. Engage your friends, family and colleagues to help you and make a short video. Share it with us and you might just be our winner - the first prize is 200 EUR in dinar value, the second prize winner receives a prize of 150 EUR in dinar value, and the third prize winner receives a prize of 100 EUR in dinar value (according to the average exchange rate of the National Bank of Serbia on the day of payment).

Contest Conditions:
In order for a video clip to be accepted, it must comply with the following competition rules:
- The participant must live (have a residence) in Serbia;
- Be between the ages of 18 and 25 (to be of legal age, with the upper limit of date of birth January 1, 1999);
- The video clip must be original;
- The length of the video clip must be between 30 and 90 seconds;
- The video clip must be in Serbian;
- One participant can submit multiple video clips;
- In addition to a unique idea for visual communication, it also contains the hashtag #reciDAstandardima
All participants must post their idea solution on YouTube and/or Instagram and/or TikTok with the mandatory hashtag #reciDAstandardima
- Participants inform the Institute about the publication of the video (to the email address iss-edukacija@iss.rs) and on that occasion submit links to the posted video, as well as permission for the Institute to take over
- All video clips must be submitted by no later than June 18, 2024, at 11:59 to the following address: iss-edukacija@iss.rs, with the “liking” of the video continuing until June 20, 11:59.

Please note that the contest is open to residents of Serbia only.
Upon submission of their entries, participants will complete the CONTEST APPLICATION in which they will leave their data:
- Name and surname, date of birth, occupation, email address and contact phone number, permission for the Institute to take over the video.
- Video clips that do not comply with the aforementioned rules will not be eligible for a prize, and applications will be ranked based on the following criteria:
- Relevance (does the video really show an example of something that wouldn't work without standards?);
- Understanding the impact of standards on our daily lives;
- Creativity and originality (you will have a better chance of winning if you find an original example that stands out from the rest);
- Completeness and accuracy of information in the video recording;
- Quality of the video recording (don't shy away from a sense of humor because we love to laugh, but quality is key!).
By entering the competition, participants transfer to the Institute the right to register and permanently use the video material in the event that their idea solution is accepted.
Selection and Awards:
After the video submission period ends, a panel of experts from the Institute will select the top 10 videos within seven days. The videos will be further ranked based on the number of “likes”.
The Institute will award three videos with the most votes (“likes”), and all participants whose videos have been shortlisted for the award (top 10) will receive a certificate of participation from the Institute.
The winners of the competition will be contacted by email in the days following the competition.
