On October 20, training was held at the Institute for Standardization of Serbia for 30 students from the Polytechnic School for New Technologies in Zemun, specializing in Recycling. During the presentation by Ljubica Petrović, Head of the Division for International Cooperation, Information, and Provision of Expert Assistance, the students were introduced to the basics of international, European, and national standardization. Marina Donić, Senior Organizer for Standardization Affairs, spoke about the reuse of packaging waste, recycling, and markings on packaging, while Dragana Popović, Coordinator of the ISS Certification Body, informed the students about certification and its importance.
A day later, the students also visited the ISS at the Energy Fair and EcoFair, which were held from October 20 to 22 at the Belgrade Fair. The training of students from the Polytechnic School has been carried out year after year at the national standardization body, to the great satisfaction of the students, teachers, and employees of the Institute. We hope that this tradition of introducing young people to standards and the importance of their use will continue in the future.
