The first this year's meeting of the ISO Council

Last week, the ISO Council meeting was held in Geneva. This governing body of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) makes important strategic decisions, and at the first of a total of three annual meetings the participants discussed the guidelines for further development of standards and their implementation.

All 20 members of the ISO Council actively participate in creating ideas and how to implement them.

Following last year's election as a representative in Group 4, this is the first participation of the Acting Director of the Institute at the Council meeting. For Serbia, the presence in the highest ISO decision-making body is of exceptional importance, considering that for the first time since its establishment, it has its representative who is at the source of information and actively participates in the strategic development of standardization.

Membership is also an opportunity to confirm the high position of the national standardization body at the global level.
