On line trainings for laboratories

The Institute for Standardization of Serbia is starting a cycle of online trainings that will enable the staff working in accredited laboratories to gain the necessary competencies for the application of the SRPS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard, or those who want to be accredited. The application of ISO/IEC 17025 facilitates cooperation between laboratories and other bodies at the national and international level. Laboratories are required to function in a way that ensures that their processes and data are reliable. In addition, results are more acceptable internationally when laboratories operate in accordance with this standard.

This standard specifies general requirements for competence, impartiality and consistent operation of laboratories. It is applicable to all organizations, regardless of the number of staff members performing laboratory activities. For the purpose of confirming or recognizing the competence of laboratories, this International Standard can also be applied by users of laboratory services, regulatory bodies, organizations in which peer assessment is conducted, including schemes in which peer assessment is used, accreditation bodies and many others.

The training cycle begins with a two-day webinar based on the presentation and interpretation of the requirements of the SRPS ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 standard. The training offers a large number of practical exercises aimed at training participants for the practical application of the requirements of the standard. At the end of the training, a short test is planned to check the acquired knowledge. As the transition period for the transition from the old to the new version of the SRPS ISO/IEC 17025 standard ends in June, this first training is just planned for that period.

Next two trainings are scheduled for the Autumn of 2021, i.e.:
• Two-day webinar: Internal audits according to the requirements of SRPS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 – Practical training, and
• One-day webinar: Practical instructions for the management/resolving the risks in the laboratories.

The lecturers are experienced and competent auditors according to the standard SRPS ISO/IEC 17025: 2017, with experience in the Directorate for Measures and Precious Metals, the Accreditation Body of Serbia, laboratories, etc.
