New Website Launched to Support Cybersecurity Standards for the Cyber Resilience Act

The European Standardization Organizations CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI have launched a new website dedicated to supporting the development of cybersecurity standards aligned with the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). This initiative aims to provide harmonized and applicable standards that will enable a more secure digital future for everyone.

STAN4CRA – Key Standardization Projects

The new platform focuses on the STAN4CR and STAN4CR2 projects, funded by the European Innovation Council, the EISMEA executive agencies, and EFTA. These projects are jointly led by CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI in response to the European Commission's request for the elaboration of standard solutions (M/606) under the CRA.

The goal of the projects is to develop essential cybersecurity standards at least one year before the CRA comes into force, which is crucial for businesses and industries across the EU.

Security by Design and Business Support

The STAN4CRA initiatives are aimed at developing standards based on the principles of cybersecurity by design and by default, ensuring consistent implementation across all sectors of the single market. Technical committees are working intensively with all relevant stakeholders, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the open-source community.

Wide Range of Activities and Public Engagement

The projects encompass not only technical expertise but also public consultations, technical sessions, and awareness-raising activities. This allows the broader public, as well as industry stakeholders, to actively participate in building a reliable and transparent cyber framework.

Towards a Resilient and Innovative European Digital Economy

STAN4CRA covers the entire lifecycle of products with digital components – from design to maintenance. This builds a coherent and resilient cybersecurity system, strengthening Europe's position as a global leader in this field and fostering alignment, interoperability, and innovation.
