Scope

IEC CISPR 32: 2026 applies to multimedia equipment (MME) as defined in 3.1.27. This also includes MME with any of the following features:
- MME intended primarily for professional use;
- MME that contains a radio function;
- MME that is battery powered.
The emission requirements in this document are not intended to be applicable to the intentional transmissions from a radio communication device operated in accordance with the ITU-R Radio Regulations, nor to any spurious emissions related to these intentional transmissions. This document covers two classes of MME (Class A and Class B). The MME classes are specified in Clause 4. The objectives of this document are:
a) to establish requirements which provide an adequate level of protection of the radio spectrum, allowing radio services to operate as intended in the frequency range 9 kHz to 400 GHz;
b) to specify procedures to ensure the reproducibility of measurement and the repeatability of results.
CISPR 32 has been prepared by CISPR subcommittee I: Electromagnetic compatibility of information technology equipment, multimedia equipment and receivers. It is an International Standard. This third edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2015 and Amendment 1:2019. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) numerous maintenance items are addressed to improve the testing of MME;
b) alignment and update of Scope;
c) incorporation of in situ methods and requirements;
d) revision of TV Tuner Port requirements;
e) inclusion of APD methods and limits;
f) inclusion of conducted requirements below 950 MHz for satellite broadcast receiver tuner ports;
g) editorial improvements and corrections identified from Edition 2 amendment 1;
h) DC network port requirements;
i) informative annex covering testing MME with radio transmission function;
j) informative annex explaining the changes above 1 GHz in Edition 2 Amendment 1;
k) informative annex on the use of a VHF-LISN as a cable termination of AC power cables to improve test reproducibility (VHF-LISN characteristics are defined in CISPR 16-1-4:2025);
l) update of references to the latest basic standards;
m) conversion of RVC methodology from Informative to Normative;
n) adding informative Annex O providing rationale for inclusion of RVC method for radiated emission measurements above 1 GHz;
o) emission limits below 150 kHz on AC mains for class B equipment are added, in line with IEC 61000-6-3:2026 and CISPR PAS 39.
