Scope

This document is intended for parties involved in the application, assessment, and verification of the requirements specified in ISO 17889-1 and ISO 17889-2. These activities may be performed by first‑, second‑, or third‑party entities, including manufacturers, verification and validation bodies, and certification bodies, where certification is the selected conformity assessment pathway. This document includes relevant documentation needed for verification. Each describes and links to the requirements in ISO 17889-1 and ISO 17889-2, whether mandatory or voluntary (see Annex A for additional information).
