This document provides general requirements and considerations for three-dimensional characterization of cells and multi-cellular structures by optical microscopy.
This document gives guidance on sample preparation, optical image acquisition, reconstruction, and quantification for three-dimensional cellular morphological analysis.
This document primarily applies to the characterization of mammalian cells. This document is applicable to spheroids, organoids, multicellular aggregates, engineered tissue-like structures, and other biological samples.
This document is not applicable to clinical diagnostic imaging.
