Tourism and related services — Pet-friendly accommodation services — Guidelines

Scope

This document provides guidelines for pet-friendly accommodation services in the tourism sector. It gives recommendations on service information, reservation and check-in procedures, facilities and equipment, hygiene and cleaning, safety and risk management, guest communication, staff competence, emergency response and continual improvement related to the provision of accommodation services for guests travelling with pets.
This document is applicable to different types of tourism accommodation establishments that allow pets, including hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, guesthouses, homestays, campsites and other short-term accommodation providers.
This document does not apply to veterinary medical services, pet boarding services provided independently from guest accommodation, or the transportation of pets.
