Methods of testing cement - Part 15 - Sulfate resistance - Flat prism method

Scope

This document specifies a test method for the assessment of the sulfate resistance of cements and other hydraulic binders by means of the flat prism method.
It defines the procedures for the preparation, curing and exposure of prisms to sulfate solutions, and the measurement of their dimensional and mechanical changes.

This test method is applicable to all cements conforming to EN 197‑1 and to other hydraulic binders requiring characterization of sulfate resistance.
The results obtained provide a comparative assessment of sulfate resistance under standardized laboratory conditions and are not intended to predict performance in specific service environments.
