The objective is to develop a European standard that lays down technical specifications as regards a common and interoperable charging interface and communication protocol for radio equipment capable of being recharged by means of wireless charging.
This standard will act as an umbrella standard referencing EN standards that specify the wireless charging interface and the communication protocol for handheld mobile phones, tablets, e-readers, earbuds (together with their charging case), headphones, headsets, smartwatches, mice and keyboards, capable of being recharged by means of wireless charging.
NOTE: If the word "harmonized" (marked in green) is not found in the field with the name of the directive, it means that the European standard is not cited in the OJEU.
