Scope

This document specifies the procedures for determining the flow time using an inverted cone.
NOTE 1 This test was originally developed for tremie concrete. This test can generally be suitable for concretes with a slump test value (measured according to EN 12350-2) higher than 150 mm, or concrete with a flow table test value (measured according to EN 12350-5) higher than 450 mm.
This test doesn’t apply to self-compacting concrete.
NOTE 2 Self-compacting flow time can be measure using EN 12350-9.
This test is not suitable when the maximum size of the coarse aggregate (Dmax) exceeds 22,4 mm.
