Patient handling equipment used in ambulances - Part 7: Isolation transport system

Scope

The scope of the proposed work item is to clearly describe the isolation transport system intended for the ambulance transportation of infectious patients.

Proposal for Scope:
This European Standard defines the minimum requirements for the design and performance of
a single-patient isolation unit used in road ambulances for the treatment and transport of
infectious patients. It aims to ensure protection of the environment or the patient from
exposure to infectious agents and safety and comfort for the patient.
