Medical electrical equipment - Requirements for the basic safety an essential performance of medical chairs

Scope

This standard applies to the BASIC SAFETY and ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS of MEDICAL chairs.

Not all criteria apply to some RECLINERS (e.g. electrical criteria do not apply to manually operated RECLINERS).
These specific provisions do not apply to:
- STRETCHERS intended for use in rescue services (these are covered by DIN EN 1789),
- PATIENT positioning devices defined in the scope of DIN EN 60601-2-46,
- PATIENT positioning devices from diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic equipment (see IEC 60601-2-54 or IEC 60601-2-43),
- medical beds (see IEC 80601-2-52 and IEC 80601-2-89),
- Field operating tables,
- Dental patient chairs (see ISO 7494-1),
- Stretchers (see DIN 13024-N),
- Couches (see Project 82305/Future EN 50775)
- Products that are used for the transport of PATIENTS/persons in accordance with their INTENDED USE (e.g. stretchers, transport beds, recovery beds),
- Wallmounted FOLDING STRETCHERS.
