Miniature connecting devices for the interconnection of electrical mains supplied equipment in road vehicles

Scope

This European Standard specifies general safety requirements for miniature connecting devices hereafter referred to as accessories, with a rated current of max 16 A and a rated voltage of 250 V a.c. 50/60 Hz single phase, applied for the connection or interconnection of mains supplied equipment in road vehicles, e.g. to supply electrical pre-heaters for engines, starter battery chargers and cab heaters.
This European Standard may also be used for accessories for other similar applications.
The European Standard does not apply to:
- devices used in flexible supply cables for the connection of household electrical appliances and the like to their supply;
- charging of electric vehicles; or
- adaptors, which are considered to be not allowed.
