Regional Cooperation

During a two-day visit on February 13th and 14th, 2025, representatives of the Standardization Institute of North Macedonia ISRSM visited the Institute for Standardization of Serbia. The ISRSM delegation consisted of Mr. Dževat Kicara, Director, and his closest associate, Mr. William Hristovski. The reason for the visit was the signing of a revised cooperation agreement between the two institutions, as well as the exchange of experiences regarding the work of the standards committee dealing with standardization in the field of safety and resilience.

The agreement envisages cooperation in the fields of standardization and conformity assessment. Common interests have been identified in fulfilling obligations in the implementation of European and international standards as national standards with the aim of improving the conditions for the development of economic and trade relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia. It is also envisaged to exchange information on certification systems and procedures, as well as the application of the conformity mark with standards.

Of particular importance was the consideration of the work of the ISS NTC KS A292, Security and Resilience, which has been operating in this field for a number of years. The experience in the work on the standards of this committee can help colleagues from North Macedonia who are just about to establish their national committee and this meeting was only the first step in establishing further cooperation in this plan.
