The World Economic Forum (WEF) has traditionally been held every January for five decades in the Swiss tourist town of Davos. World leaders, politicians and executives of large corporations gather at this event to discuss important global topics. This year, WEF will be held from 25 till 29 January, but, like many other sessions, it will be virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Considering this crisis, WEF published a guide for governments in December last year, which contains techniques for dealing with the current problems and for embracing technical innovation. Case studies on how to successfully apply these techniques in practice are also included. International standards are recognized as one the key effective tools recommended by this guide. Timely and comprehensive standards reviews is also necessary to monitor the development of the technology and enable the development of the intense change in the modern world.
