As previously announced, on 2 May 2020, the Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) in collaboration with Center for Risk Analysis and Crisis Management (CRACM), and the company SGS Beograd, organized the free webinar Health aspects of the COVID-19 crisis. At this webinar, two eminent Serbian experts presented the precise and detailed data on the emergence and development of the virus that has taken over the entire planet.
The webinar was opened by Tatjana Bojanić, ISS Director and prof Dr. Zoran Keković, CRACM President and the Chairperson of the ISS NTC for security and resilience. Then, the lecturers, in a very concerete manner, supported by the facts and statistical sources, painted an objective picture of the current situation and explained its causes and possible consequences.
Prof Dr. Elizabeta Ristanović, from the Military Medical Academy explained the nature the viruses and how they affect the humans, compared the current pandemic with the previous ones, and presented COVID-19 virus in such an illustrative way, which was comprehensive to everyone. Miljan Rančić, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Serbia gave a detailed overview of the measures this organization has undertaken and launched in the battle against COVID-19, and shared with the participants first-hand information and significant advices and recommendations.
The topic and the contents of the presentations were quite inspirational to a large number of the participants, who asked many questions using chat option, and the lecturers provided answers at the end, thus explaining any doubt and/or confusion.
The webinar lasted approximately two and a half hours and was attended by 70 participants, and all those who logged in will get the link with the recording of the webinar via e-mail.
The next webinar on crisis communication is announced for 16 May 2020. Also, in the forthcoming period, ISS would like to announce and introduce other interesting topics for discussion, such as psychological, geopolitical, economic and legal aspects of the crisis.
