With the support of the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Serbia and the Ministry of Environmental Protection selected the best project proposals that came in response to the "Challenge for innovative solutions in the field of circular economy". This public call was announced as part of the project "EU for the Green Agenda in Serbia" in March of this year.
The expert jury chose as many as 29 project proposals that will receive mentoring and technical support for the further development of their ideas. The phase of preparing projects for co-financing starts at the end of August and will last until December 2022.
Among the selected projects are "New Pen" - pencils and crayons made from old newspapers and recycled paper, Bio charcoal briquettes from plum stones, Production of synthetic gas from agricultural waste, Transition of waste sludge to compost.

ISS NTC Z183, Circular economy and waste management follows up the development of this field at the European and international level. In June, the standard SRPS Z.Z2.001 - Framework for the implementation of circular economy principles in organizations - Instructions was published, which is identical to the British standard BS 8001.
Three members of the commission have been nominated as experts in ISO/TC 323, which deals with the circular economy, for working groups:
