In 2015, by defining the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the UN set an ambitious 15-year plan to address some of the most pressing issues facing the world, which would create the conditions for peace, poverty eradication and protection of the planet. These goals are globally recognized as necessary for the future sustainability of the world in which we live. They point out that poverty eradicating must go hand in hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs, including education, health, social protection and employment opportunities while addressing climate change and the environment.
