This year´s theme for World Tourism Day is “Tourism for Inclusive Growth” and it emphasizes that travel and tourism should be something everyone can enjoy, regardless of their physical abilities.
World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) designated 27 September as the World Tourism Day, the day the organization´s statute was adopted in 1970. This date has been celebrated around the world since 1979, with the aim of developing awareness of the social, cultural, economic and political significance of tourism.
Tourism has been particularly affected by the global pandemic, with estimated global losses exceeding $ 1 billion in the previous year.
Great support and encouragement for the recovery of tourism is provided by the International standards that offer the application of the best solutions and the creation of a safe environment. Recently published ISO/PAS 5643:2021 which provides guidance and recommendations to the tourist industry that will help them in the prevention of spreading COVID-19, as well as the health protection of the tourist services providers and ensuring safer tourism services and products to the tourists and local population.
This specification was adopted at the European level as the European Tourism COVID-19 Safety Seal and it consists of two documents: CWA 5643-1, Tourism and related services - Requirements and guidelines to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in the tourism industry and CWA 5643-2, Tourism and related services - Requirements and guidelines to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in the tourism industry - European visual identity. These documents were adopted by ISS as SRPS CWA 5643-1:2021 (https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/project/show/iss:proj:102193) and SRPS CWA 543-2:2021 (https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/project/show/iss:proj:102194).
In 2021, ISS has published the first standard in this field in Serbian language: SRPS ISO 21101:2021, Adventure tourism — Safety management systems — Requirements (https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/adventure-tourism-standard-published-in-serbian-language_p1036.html).
