World Water Day, 22 March, is an opportunity to draw attention to this most important natural resource, the "source of life", which is an essential product as a major component of renewable energy, and a key element in food production and many industrial processes, and activities to improve sanitary conditions and population health.
On this day, the United Nations wants to remind you of the importance of water protection, their endangerment and the lack of drinking water in many parts of the world. It is estimated that about 40% of the world's population does not have enough water for basic living needs, while the rest of the world faces the problem of water pollution. In addition, we are witnessing climate change and droughts that are also having a big impact.
ISO offers standards with harmonized technology and terminology, enabling countries that share the same water resources to work together efficiently.
International standards also cover almost every issue related to water, from pipes and pipelines, irrigation, to water quality, water supply management and wastewater treatment.
