The European Union has declared 2022 the European Year of Youth. Young people are especially important for European standardization. They bring new, fresh ideas to work on standardization, ensuring its up-to-dateness, as well as identifying and encouraging innovation and new technologies. Young people can help create new perspectives for the European standardization system and better respond to the needs of developing society and industry. Finally, young professionals are vital to developing a standardization system and are able to make it more resilient and prepared for future events, in a context where global challenges, such as climate change, require the involvement of as many different stakeholders as possible.
In this regard, CEN and CENELEC are pleased to join the celebration of the European Year of Youth through a media campaign to be conducted in the coming months. The objective of the campaign is twofold: on the one hand to present the activities that CEN and CENELEC are already implementing in the engagement of young professionals in standardization work, and on the other hand to raise awareness of standardization among young people, so that interested young professionals can be engaged in the future work on standardization and improvement of the standardization system.
The Institute for Standardization of Serbia supported this campaign, and you can follow the results of the campaign on the Institute's website.
