National Standardization Body Competent for the Interpretation of Serbian Standards and Their Application

At its 225th session, held on July 14, 2026, the Management Board of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia considered the occurrence of various legal entities and natural persons expressing professional opinions regarding Serbian standards and their application, which can be characterized as the interpretation of Serbian standards within the meaning of the Law on Standardization (Official Gazette of the RS, Nos. 36/2009 and 46/2015).

On this occasion, the Management Board unanimously adopted a conclusion stating that, in accordance with Article 7, Paragraph 1, Point 2 of the Law on Standardization, the Institute for Standardization of Serbia is exclusively competent for the interpretation of Serbian standards and the interpretation of their application.

Employees of the Institute, members of expert bodies, and external associates of the Institute may not appear or participate in expressing views regarding the interpretation of Serbian standards or officially interpret their application without authorization from the Institute.
