In line with its longstanding tradition, the Institute for Standardization of Serbia organizes humanitarian activities each year during the New Year holiday season. This year, at the end of January, aid was sent to the Children’s Department of the Rehabilitation Clinic “Dr Miroslav Zotović.”
For the purpose of supporting the treatment of the youngest patients across Serbia, the Institute secured funds for the procurement of 40 bedding sets, thereby providing concrete support aimed at improving the conditions of stay and recovery for children.
The Children’s Department of this Clinic provides care for children from all parts of Serbia and is engaged in the habilitation and rehabilitation of patients aged from 15 days to 19 years. Patients are categorized into two primary groups: children with physical impairments and children with combined developmental disabilities. Therapy is conducted both for hospitalized children and for outpatient patients.
Work with children is organized as a multidisciplinary process involving specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, speech therapists, special education professionals, social workers, sports instructors, artists, and educators. The treatment process also includes consulting physicians of various specialties, as well as orthotists, while parents and the patients themselves play a significant role.
That kindness always finds its way back was demonstrated by the children themselves. After two months, they expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Institute in the form of greeting cards and drawings, and, as a special token of gratitude, presented a book authored by a former patient, which recounts her path to recovery and the support she received at the Clinic - a journey that ultimately enabled her to stand on her feet again.
The humanitarian activities of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia enjoy strong support from all employees, who will continue to foster a spirit of solidarity and organize similar initiatives in the future, with the aim of assisting those most in need.
