On Thursday, 10 October, 2024, a Ceremonial Academy was held at the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade to mark 90 years of standardization in Serbia. This significant event for the Institute for Standardization of Serbia was attended by numerous guests from both Serbia and abroad. Among the attendees were the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Vladimir Arsenović, who also opened the ceremony, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Emeše Lalić Urban, the Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Economy, Nikola Vitas, directors of national standardization bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, North Macedonia, Croatia, Montenegro, and the Czech Republic, the director of the Republic Institute for Standardization and Metrology of the Republic of Srpska, members of the ISS Assembly, the Management Board and the Supervisory Board of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, directors of the Accreditation Body of Serbia and the Directorate for Measures and Precious Metals, numerous associates and employees of the Institute. The former director of the Institute, from 2007 to 2015, Mr. Ivan Krstić, and the acting director of the Institute, Tatjana Bojanić, also addressed the attendees.
A monograph specially prepared for this occasion, presenting the development of standardization in Serbia, was presented to all the distinguished guests.
Individuals and institutions that have contributed to the development and improvement of standardization in Serbia for many years were awarded. The recipients of the thank-you notes for the improvement and development of standardization in the Republic of Serbia this year are: Sonja Gezović, Ljiljana Miličić, Mirjana Malešev, Nataša Simić, Snežana Pantelić, Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Gajić, Prof. Dr. Jovan Elazar. The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the Accreditation Body of Serbia, and the Directorate for Measures and Precious Metals received plaques for their exceptional contribution to the development and improvement of standardization in the Republic of Serbia.
The following day, on October 11, 2024, a panel on education in standardization was held at the “Svetozar Marković” University Library in Belgrade, attended by representatives of national standardization bodies from the region, led by Prof. Dr. Ivana Mijatović. On the same day, an exhibition on standardization titled “Standardization Through Old Prints” was opened in the library, as well as an information center for standards, providing all library users with electronic access to the collection of all Serbian standards.
