9th June World Accreditation Day

World Accreditation Day has been celebrated on this day since 2008, in order to promote this activity carried out by national conformity assessment bodies. In our country, it is the Accreditation Body of Serbia.

This year's World Accreditation Day message draws attention to supporting global trade, adapting accreditation and conformity assessment to advances in technology, changes in consumer behavior and changing business models.

Accreditation is a procedure that determines the fulfillment of requirements for performing certain tasks of conformity assessment bodies. In this process, the connection between accreditation and standardization is visible, as the requirements for testing laboratories and calibration laboratories are defined by appropriate standards, which provide guidelines for enabling competence, impartiality and consistency.

The Accreditation Body of Serbia and the Institute for Standardization of Serbia form part of the quality infrastructure system in the Republic of Serbia and represent its interests at the international level. Accreditation Day in the Republic of Serbia is celebrated on 28 June, the day when the first accreditation was awarded in Serbia 23 years ago.
