The interview with Tatjana Bojanić, ISS Director, was posted on the web portal of the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC, E-tech (https://etech.iec.ch/issue/showing-the-way-forward).
Gender equality at the Institute is supported through equal working conditions and opportunities for advancement for employees of both sexes. In the current ISS organization, as much as 70% of jobs at the Institute belong to women. Also, about 40% of the members of the NTC members, domestic experts in various fields from all over the country are representatives of the fairer sex. In order to emphasize the role and importance of the female population in standardization activities in our country, ISS joined the IEC global video campaign last year #WomenatIEC (https://www.iec.ch/women-iec#video).
In addition to the basic topic, women's participation in the system of national standardization of the Republic of Serbia, readers from all over the world will have the opportunity to learn more about the development of standardization in this area and the challenges the Institute for Standardization of Serbia faces today. The problem of attracting young people and introducing them to standardization within regular schooling was especially singled out. In that way, new generations of future experts start using standards on time, and the most active among them go a step further and get involved in standard-setting activities.
