Digital Europe Event: “Future of IoT Security: What is next?”

The number of inter-connected devices also referred to as the Internet of Things (IoT) is increasingly growing. It generates growing cybersecurity risks, as well as the need for better protection. Presentation of the changes introduced in the CEN and CENELEC bylaws

This webinar addresses important changes introduced in the CEN & CENELEC Statutes, as well as the Internal Regulations. The aim is to comply with the new Belgian Code on Companies and Associations (BCAC), that is implemented in Belgium since 1 January 2020. It will also address the possible inconsistencies and gaps detected among various acts, harmonization between CEN and CENELEC, as well as its membership criteria.

Workshop: “Standards in support of the industrial data value chain”

Industrial data is key to the success of a harmonized Single Market and European competitiveness in the global market. To fully benefit from the added value of industrial data, European stakeholders need a common approach that enables trust, quality and interoperability along the entire data value chain. During this stakeholders’ workshop organized by the European Standardization Organizations – CEN, CENELEC and ETSI, GAIA-X, the European Association for Data and Cloud, will present their experience in a global context.

Small Business Standards (SBS) ICT Forum 2021

Ms. Elena Santiago Cid, CEN-CENELEC Director General, will contribute to the SBS forum as a speaker on the topic of Standardization for the Twin Transition and how standardization plays a key role in supporting this strategy. SBS Forum on ICT Standards for SMEs aims at bringing in the perspective of SMEs into the ICT standardization debate. Some of the subjects that will be presented and discussed are: What standards are missing, and in which areas does the EU need to focus to support the twin transition? Are standards, deployment as identified by the Report of the Study Group Circular Economy, available, enough, and ready for deployment? What are the underlying challenges for SMEs to adopt standardization, and is there a room for SMEs to be active participants in defining such standards? How can the EU support these efforts?
