The working task for technical committee KS N040 is to prepare standards for:a) Capacitors and resistors intended for use in equipment for telecommunication and electronic devices employing similar techniques. b) Capacitors, resistors and inductors for radio interference suppression and complete radio interference suppression filter units (see note). c) Passive integrated circuits or networks containing resistors or capacitors or their combinations.
To prepare standards for piezoelectric, dielectric and electrostatic devices for frequency control, selection and detection, such as resonators, filters, oscillators, sensors and their related products.
To prepare standards on electronic assembly (relevant) technologies and in the field of printed board assemblies, including the requirements for materials used to manufacture printed boards, electronic and electromechanical component mounting and attachment, as well as the electronic data format for describing these products and processes.
To prepare standards for of terminology, materials , processes, equipments, products and health/safety/environment in the field of printed electronics.
Standardization of environmental aspects concerns:To prepare the necessary guidelines, basic and horizontal standards, including technical reports, in the environmental area, in close cooperation with product committees of IEC, which remain autonomous in dealing with the environmental aspects relevant to their products;To liaise with product committees in the elaboration of environmental requirememts of product standards in order to foster common technical approaches and solutions for similar problems and thus assure consistency in IEC standards; To liaise with ACEA and ISO/TC 207; To monitor closely the corresponding regional standardization activities worldwide in order to become a focal point for discussions concerning standardization; EMC and EMF aspects are excluded from the scope.
