The Institute for Standardization of Serbia cooperates with other national bodies for standardization in the region and supports their development. One of the standardization organizations from this region with which ISS established intensive cooperation is the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro (ISME). ISS and ISME have signed a Cooperation Agreement since its establishment in 2007, on the basis of which the two institutions have implemented a number of joint activities so far.
ISME and its guests have just celebrated a decade and a half of their existence. On behalf of the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism of Montenegro, Ms. Jasna Vujović, Director General of the Directorate for Internal Market and Competition, spoke at the ceremony. She emphasized the important task that ISME has in providing the technical basis for the process of transposing EU regulations at the national level.
Tatjana Bojanic, Director of ISS, and her associates attended this festive event, held on 16 May this year. On this occasion, Ms. Bojanic, congratulating the anniversary and full membership in ISO, as a member of the CEN Board, presented the experience of ISS in obtaining the status of a full member of European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC. ISME is following the same path and is currently checking the fulfillment of the conditions for its full membership in CEN and CENELEC. The application was submitted in December 2021, and this procedure is expected to be positively completed at the beginning of next year.
